Our Work
Adventist education provides opportunities for students to develop a relationship with Jesus and be a part of fulfilling the Gospel commission in our region. Our education aims to develop the “whole person” concept in each student while educating them to value a life of service to God. Today, There are 53 schools in the Caribbean Union Conference with a total enrollment of over 9,500 students who are taught by over 650 teachers. The church promotes the integration of faith in the instructional and learning process. Activities include Bible lessons, week of prayer sessions and days of prayer activities.
Christian Education not only refers to the educating of students on the knowledge of God but also that the application of the gifts that God has given us is the sole way to a complete education. Built on biblical foundations, methods of critical thinking are taught, to prepare them for the path they have chosen for their lives. Adventist education promotes the belief that education and wisdom are gained through the dedication and discipline of choosing God every day of our lives.
The department also is responsible for other activities such as
- Accreditation of Adventist educational institutions across the Union. Accreditation is the recognition from an accrediting body or agency that the school has maintained a certain level of educational standard as required by the various governments and the Adventist Accrediting Association (AAA).
- Commissioning of teachers who are called to fulfil the special work of the teaching ministry.
- Facilitate and support outreach programs within Union territories that fulfil the mission of the church. Students are encouraged to develop a life of faith in God and to use their knowledge, skills, and understanding to serve God and humanity.
- Other academic activities.
